    Ajman Industrial area sealed off as police hunt for illegal workers

    Ajman: Police sealed off an industrial district of Ajman on Thursday morning, as they carried out a search for illegal workers.

    Roads in and out of Ajman Industrial Area 2 were closed at 7am, with people wanting to both enter or leave the area being turned away.

    The area is still closed.

    Eyewitnesses have reported military, police and helicopters circling the area.

    Brigadier Ali Alwan, chief of Ajman Police, told Gulf News that they were inspecting the area for illegal workers.

    One Iraqi expatriate said he had tried to go to work this morning but was told he was not
    allowed into the industrial area.
