قررت شبكة الإذاعة العربية في دبي، أمس، فصل المذيع الجنوب إفريقي ريفن جون، الذي يقدم برنامجاً صباحياً على إذاعة «فيرجن» بعدما انتقد مستمعون ما وصفوه بـ«تطاوله على الأديان، والذات الإلهية» في إحدى فقرات البرنامج.
وصرح مدير عام الشبكة، محمود الرشيد لـ«الإمارات اليوم» بأن «المذيع قرأ خبراً نشرته صحف غربية وعربية عدة أول من أمس، يفيد بأن محكمة أميركية رفضت دعوى قضائية ضد (الرب)، ثم قرأ مقالاً صحافياً على الإنترنت يمثل حواراً مع (الرب)».
وأضاف «قررت إدارة الشبكة على الفور إحالة المذيع للتحقيق، وصدر قرار بفصله من العمل، وقد دافع عن نفسه بأنه كان يريد أن يسخر من الخبر المنشور في الصحف بهذه الطريقة».
وأفاد الرشيد بأن «المذيع اعترف بالخطأ، وأعلن اعتذاره على الهواء في البرنامج نفسه أمس، وقال «إنه لم يقصد الإساءة للرب، أو للأديان، وقد أُسيء فهم مقصده».
وذكر أن «الإذاعة اعتبرت ما فعله المذيع تطاولاً على الأديان كافة»، مشيراً إلى أن «الفقرة ـ التي لم يزد زمنها على سبع دقائق ـ أثارت استياء جميع العاملين في الإذاعة بمن فيهم الغربيون».
وتابع «هذه الواقعة خطأ فردي، ويتحمل مسؤوليتها كاملة المذيع؛ لأنه هو الذي يعدّ، وينفذ، ويذيع برنامجه». ولفت إلى أنه «قدم إلى الدولة منذ ثلاثة أشهر فقط، وغير ملم بطبيعة المجتمعين العربي والإسلامي».
لكن مستمعين قالوا لـ«الإمارات اليوم»: «إن المذيع حاول إقامة حوار مع زميل له في الأستوديو، متقمصاً دور إله، فظهر الحوار وكأنه سخرية من الأديان السماوية جميعها، وتطاول غير مقبول على الذات الإلهية».
من جانبه، قدم ريفن جون اعتذاره، وأكد لـ«الإمارات اليوم» أنه «لم يقصد أبداً الإساءة للرب أو إلى أي دين».
وقال إنه لم ينطق بلفظ الجلالة، و«كان يقرأ القصة الغريبة من نوعها التي حصل عليها من موقع إخباري إلكتروني، لكن أُسيء فهمه».
وأفاد بأنه «لم يتطرق إلى الحديث عن الله، ولا عن الدين الإسلامي مطلقاً، أو الدين المسيحي، ولم يذكر أي شيء يتعلق بعادات الدولة، أو عادات المسلمين، ولا أي ديانة أخرى فيها». وأقرّ بأن «القصة التي رواها غير مقبولة في الدين الإسلامي، ولا المسيحي، ولا أي دين».
وأشار إلى أن هدفه اليومي من البرنامج «إمتاع المستمعين بآخر الأخبار، خصوصاً الأخبار الغريبة من أنحاء العالم كافة».
في المقابل، اعتبر الراهب القمص، إسحاق الأنبا بيشوي، راعي كاتدرائية الأنبا أنطونيوس للأقباط المصريين في أبوظبي أن «المذيع أخطأ خطأً كبيراً، وتطاول على الذات الإلهية»، مضيفاً «لا يقبل أي دين بمثل ذلك».
ولفت الراهب إلى أن «التجرؤ على الله أمر لا يقبله الدين أو العقل، فالله هو الخالق، والبشر مهما عظم شأنهم هم صغار إلى الخالق، ولا يملكون محاورته».
إلى ذلك، قال أستاذ الشريعة الإسلامية في جامعة الشارقة، الدكتور عبدالحق حميش: «إن قراءة الخبر المنشور في الصحف ليس فيه خطأ؛ لأن القاعدة الشرعية تقول: (ناقل الكفر ليس بكافر)، لكن ينبغي أن نراعي الأدب أثناء قراءة الخبر، ونتناوله بأسلوب الاستنكار، وقد أخطأ هذا المذيع، وارتكب فعلاً تحظره كل الأديان».
وأضاف «لابد أن يتعلم الغربيون المقيمون في الدول العربية آداب وتقاليد الإسلام، وأن يلتزموا بها حتى لا يخرقوها بذريعة الجهل».

94.7 suspends two presenters
94.7 Highveld Stereo has suspended two of its presenters with immediate effect following recent remarks they made on air relating to Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.
In a media statement, station manager Ravi Naidoo said, “Revin John and Lloyd de Bruin have been taken off air with immediate effect and without pay for one week.”
At the same time, the presenters have issued the following on air apology: “On the 28th of April 2004, on this show, Lloyd de Bruin and I (Revin John) made reference to the Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo’s visit to South Africa for the inauguration. During the on air chat we made certain remarks which were spontaneous. One particular comment was made off the cuff, and it referred to President Obasanjo and Nigerians in general and it made mention of drugs. We hereby unreservedly apologise for making these irresponsible comments. They were spontaneous and not thought out. No malice was intended. We hereby also unreservedly apologise to the Nigerian President and his government for this statement.”
Naidoo said he viewed the remarks about President Obasanjo made by John and de Bruin “in a very serious light”. He added: “The suspension of both presenters were made after an internal enquiry.”
Revin John and Lloyd de Bruin present the 7pm to 10pm show, Mondays to Fridays on 94.7 Highveld Stereo.

كان يوم 28 من الاسبوع الماضي و انا استمع الى راديو جديد في دبي و كنت في السيارة و كان برنامج ريفن جون في الصباح و هي محطة اف ام للاغاني الانكليزية و شي . عندما قال المذيع هذا اليوم في التاريخ يوم مهم للعراقين و قد حصل شي مهم في زمن صدام بهذا اليوم. و لكن قال بان يكمل الخبر بعد الاعنية و الفاصل…… و كان من فضولي و حصرتي و ليس جسرتي في السيارة و في شوارع دبي المزدحمة .. و بعد الفاصل قال بان في مثل هذا اليوم .. و في سنة .. اصدر الرئيس العراقي صدام حسيين بيان و منع الرجال من لبس الشورت….. و ضحك و قال اذا كانت سيقان العراقيين بهذا السوء و القباحة فمن المهم ان يتمرنو في الصالات لكي يحسنو شكلها.

Dubai radio fires DJ for mocking God

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — A Dubai radio station fired a South African drive-time DJ for mocking religion and impersonating God on the air, the show’s management said Wednesday.
The Arabian Radio Network said in a statement Revin John had been “let go” over a sketch Monday on Virgin Radio Dubai in which he quoted an article about a U.S. court throwing out a lawsuit against God.
John then pretended to act out a telephone conversation with God, prompting complaints from listeners of “diverse faiths and nationalities,” said a statement written in reponse to questions from The Associated Press.
“He intended to be funny, not to offend anybody,” said Arabian Radio Network Chief Operating Officer Steve Smith. “However, what he did was highly offensive to the Muslim and Christian community in the UAE.”
Abdullatif al-Sayegh, chief executive of Arab Media Group, which operates the only Middle East outpost of Richard Branson’s Virgin Radio brand, said John was allowed back on air to apologize Tuesday, then was dismissed.
John did not respond to a requests for comment.
In June, John told Dubai English-language newspaper Gulf News he researched the Middle Eastern market thoroughly before arriving. “The adage ‘know your audience’ was my starting point,” he was quoted as saying.
Virgin Radio Dubai went on air earlier this year, playing mostly European and American pop music from Dizzee Rascal to Britney Spears. Its parent, Arabian Radio Network, is a division of Dubai-based conglomerate Arab Media Group, which operates more than a dozen radio and TV stations, including MTV Arabia.
Mariam Zarouni, a 20-year-old chemical engineering student at the American University of Sharjah, said she was so offended by John’s comments that she formed a group to protest the incident on the social networking Web site Facebook. It had 569 members by Wednesday evening.
“When somebody crosses the line, then you have to defend your religion,” Zarouni said. “Honestly … how can he do this? We’re in a Muslim county. But even Christians would take offense to that. You can’t insult God.”
Dubai is the most liberal of the seven semiautonomous states that make up the United Arab Emirates, a conservative Muslim country overlooking the Persian Gulf. Alcohol flows freely in the booming city-state’s many hotel bars, and fully veiled women shop alongside much less modestly dressed Westerners amid ads for risque lingerie and nightclub wear.
Yet tensions surface when the country’s many foreign residents breach the limits of what is considered acceptable here. The issue is particularly raw in the wake after two Britons received jail time this week after being convicted of having sex on a Dubai beach in July.
